St. Patrick's Day

Everybody’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! Are you? There’s a pretty good chance that like me, you’ll say “yes.” 36 million Americans claim Irish heritage-that’s about nine times the entire population of Ireland itself! I’ve been “lucky” enough to be able to go to Ireland a few times, once even during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday itself. Do they ever delight in a good time! Most of the people I came into contact with were perpetually armed with a good story to share, a funny anecdote or a clever take on the world. Conversation was an art form. Maybe in this world of the Blackberry, e-mail and TiVo we oughtta take a lesson from that. Put down the handheld devices, turn off the cable and laugh a little! Maybe pay a little less attention to ourselves and a little more attention to each other and the world around us. Trust me. You’ll be o.k. if your cell phone goes unanswered for an hour!
